WHO WE ARE
Owner Todd Leback is a Charlottesville native and began working construction in 1997. In 1999 he attended a six-month accredited course in traditional wooden boatbuilding at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. Upon returning to Charlottesville, he began working as a cabinetmaker. Vaneri Studio opened in 2011.
HOW WE WORK
When you work with Vaneri Studio you will be communicating directly with the builder and installer of your vision. We do everything possible to stay in communication with the client or contractor to ensure that everything goes according to plan.
Flexibility
We do not have standard cabinet sizes or a limited palette of colors or wood to choose from. Every job is unique for us and designed specifically to the client’s needs. We can match any color, use virtually any wood and build cabinets to fit spaces exactly, instead of wasting space on filler strips and spacers.
Follow-Through
Not only do we build and finish our work, but we also do our own installs. So, Vaneri Studio is with you from start to finish and we stand behind our work. If there are issues in the future we will address them for you. We also have extensive experience in the building trades, so if you don’t have a contractor we can do the work associated with cabinet installation, such as drywall patching, minor electrical and plumbing, painting and so forth.
Green Building
Because we feel strongly about the environment and the future of our planet, we use only domestic, no-added formaldehyde plywood and sustainably harvested lumber. While we can do any kind of work, we specialize in veneering, which is an environmentally-friendly way of using limited resources (as well as an ancient technique that dates back to the Egyptians). In addition, we are one of the few shops in the area to finish our cabinets and furniture using a tough and durable pre-catalyzed waterborne lacquer. The finish we use is Greenguard certified and meets or exceeds both ASTM and KCMA requirements.
THE TEAM
Our shop employs a nine-person team of cabinetmakers, finishers, and an in-house designer. Each team member has unique background with woodworking and carpentry and together form a very dynamic group with a variety of skill sets. Y
